Berry or Apple or Peach Crumble


1)  8 c fruit
2)  1 T lemon juice
3)  Zest from 1 lemon (optional but really enhances fruit flavor)
4)  4 - 5 T cornstarch  (if using berries, less for harder fruits)
5)  2 t or so cinnamon
6)  3/4 c brown sugar or to taste
7)  1 1/2 c brown sugar
8)  1 1/3 c butter, soft
9)  2 c flour
10)  2 c quick oats

Mix  2)  to  6)  add fruit and mix
Place in 3 qt shallow buttered dish.
Cream  7)  &  8)
Stir in  9)  &  10), make crumbly with fingers.
Place topping lightly on top of fruit
Bake 375 for 30-40 minutes till top is crisp and fruit is bubbly.

💜  This crumble is yummy!  The secret is lots of topping.

Variations:  Apple Cranberry Crumble - add 1 pkg fresh cranberries and 1/4 c brown sugar to fruit mix.  Add 15 minutes to baking time if fruit is crisp.
